Description

This rubberised neodymium disc magnet has a countersunk hole and can be fastened with a matching countersunk screw. The rubber coating protects delicate surfaces from scratches and, at the same time, increases the load capacity in shear direction. To minimise the loss of adhesive force due to the additional rubber coating, this disc magnet is one millimetre thicker and has a stronger magnetisation (N42) compared to the similar non-rubberised screw-on magnet CS-S-18-04-N. Without rubber coating, the magnet has a diameter of approx. 18 mm and a height of approx. 5 mm. With rubber coating, the diameter is approx. 19,5 mm and the height is 6,5 mm. This screw-on disc magnet is particularly suitable for temporarily hanging signs, attaching tools etc. and is therefore popular in the fields of booth construction, shopfitting and signage technology.

Please note: Neodymium magnets are brittle and can break under excessive application of force. Not all holding surfaces are level, which is why magnets need a little slack. This allows them to optimally align with the ferromagnetic object and extend the highest adhesive force. That is why we recommend fastening these magnets by hand.

The following screws fit into the hole of this rubberised disc magnet, for example:

  • Slotted countersunk wood screws: DIN 97 (3,5 mm)
  • Cross recessed countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 7046-2 M3 (3 mm)
  • Hexalobular socket countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 14581 M3 (3 mm)
  • Hexagon socket countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 10642 M3 (3 mm)

The rubber coating protects the screw-mounted magnet from splashes and occasional moisture. However, this magnet is not suitable for permanent outdoor use as it can lead to rust. For outdoor use, we recommend our Pot magnets with ferrite magnets.
