FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Which magnets are suitable for magnetic glass boards?

Table of Contents
We carry many strong magnets that are perfectly suitable for magnetic glass boards. Please consider the following points:
  • The selection of magnets very much depends on the metal and glass thickness of the magnetic board. Low-priced magnetic glass boards often need much stronger magnets than very high-quality and expensive boards made of thicker metal.
  • Office magnets with heavy steel cap are not suitable for glass boards!
  • Standard fridge magnets and magnetic tapes are also not suitable for magnetic glass boards. You need to use the much stronger neodymium magnets to build up enough adhesive force through the glass.

Standard magnet glass board

Features of standard glass boards:
Metal thickness: approx. 0,5 mm; glass thickness: approx. 4 to 5 mm
Magnetic glass boards with these features can be found in our product range. We also recommend the following neodymium magnets for objects of various thickness:

Magnets for notes, postcards and photos

Magnets for thicker cards and cardboard

High-quality magnet glass board

Features of high-quality and expensive glass boards:
Metal thickness: approx. 2 mm; glass thickness: approx. 3 mm
These boards are relatively pricy at glass speciality stores.
We recommend the following magnets for objects of various thickness:

Magnets for notes, postcards and photos

Magnets for cardboard

Preventive measures

  • Never place magnets too close together. They might attract each other sideways, collide and break.
  • Do not move the magnets around on the glass board without a sheet of paper in between as this may cause scratches on the board. The sole exception are rubber or plastic-coated neodymium magnets, which protect fragile surfaces from scratches.
